Terms and Conditions - JetUpgrade

JetUpgrade is a bidding model where guests will bid for invitation received for upgrade from Economy cabin to Première cabin and from Première to First Class cabin. JetUpgrade is powered by Plusgrade, a US registered company.

Definitions

  • "Bid" means a bid submitted for a Flight Segment in response to an Invitation.

  • "Flight Segment" means the flight from one location to another on an aircraft (with zero or one scheduled stop(s) in between).

  • "Invitation" means an invitation to bid for a Flight Segment on JetUpgrade.

  • "Instant upgrade" means an option to purchase the upgrade at a fixed price without bidding for the same.

  • "JetUpgrade" means Jet Airways' flight upgrade bidding programme, which allows invited guests to bid for an upgrade of selected Flight Segments of their booking to a higher cabin.

  • "Plusgrade" means Plusgrade LP, a US company with registered office at 16 West 36th Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10018, U.S.A, who is offering the Plusgrade product to Jet Airways guests.

  • "Relevant Booking" means the booking for which the Bid was submitted.

  • "Upgraded class" means the higher cabin class which the guest is upgraded to, being Première or First Class, where applicable.


Bid / Instant Upgrade

  • Jet Airways may, at its sole and absolute discretion, send an Invitation to any eligible guest to join JetUpgrade.

  • An Invitation shall be valid until 7 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the eligible Flight Segment. Changes to, including but not limited to the cancellation of, a Bid can only be made during this validity period for that Flight Segment.

  • An Invitation may be invalidated if the Relevant Booking is modified or cancelled at any time prior to the scheduled departure of the eligible Flight Segment. All decisions relating to the validity of an Invitation shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of Jet Airways, and shall be final and conclusive.

  • You can even place a bid by accessing 'Manage Booking' on jetairways.com / app and place a bid, in case you are eligible.


Bid Submission

  • A Bid shall be taken as a Bid for all guests named in the Relevant Booking, and shall be deemed as an undertaking by the guest making the submission of such Bid that he / she is authorized to act on behalf of all the guests so named in the Relevant Booking.

  • There will be an option for Instant upgrade option available where you can purchase the upgrade without bidding for the same.

  • Payment for a Bid can be made by way of credit card only.

  • Submission of a bid for upgrade, using JetUpgrade is applicable to all guests booked on the same PNR. Currently an individual bid for the upgrade will not be accepted for PNRs having multiple guests

  • The guest making the submission of a Bid is responsible for ensuring that the credit card indicated as payment for the Bid (the "Credit Card") is valid and has sufficient funds for the Bid from the Bid submission to the departure of the Flight Segment associated with the Bid.

  • A Bid can be submitted, amended or cancelled from the time of receipt of the Invitation until 7 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the Flight Segment associated with the Bid.

  • A Bid may be invalidated if the Relevant Booking is modified or cancelled at any time prior to the scheduled departure of the eligible Flight Segment. All decisions relating to the validity of a Bid shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of Jet Airways, and shall be final and conclusive.

  • The eligibility of any Flight Segment may be changed, subject to the availability of seats in the higher cabin class which are the subject matter of this JetUpgrade.


Bid Acceptance

  • The acceptance or rejection of a Bid will be at Jet Airways' sole and absolute discretion.

  • The submitted Bid amount (in the submitted currency) will be deducted from the credit card account by Jet Airways' payment partner, at any time between the Bid acceptance and the departure of the Flight Segment associated with the Bid. A fee or charge may be levied by the bank which issued the Credit Card, which fee or charge shall be borne by the guests.

  • Jet Airways will revalidate your existing ticket reflecting an upgrade for each guest included in your original flight booking. You will receive an updated travel itinerary highlighting the new cabin of service.

  • In the event that the Bid amount has not been collected for whatever reason, and the Relevant Booking is Upgraded, Jet Airways reserves the right either to cancel the upgrade or to deduct or retrieve the amount unpaid for the Bid at any time.

  • All fare conditions of a ticket with one or more Upgraded Flight Segments will remain the same as that of the ticket before the Flight Segment(s) were upgraded. For the avoidance of doubt, no JPMiles shall be accrued on the basis of the upgraded class.

  • An upgraded guest will continue to receive benefits as per the original cabin.

  • An Upgraded Flight Segment is not entitled to further upgrade regardless of the means of further upgrade.

  • Upon acceptance of a Bid, similar seating arrangements to the original booking cannot be guaranteed. Upgraded seats may only be available for selection at check-in.


Cancellation and Refund

  • JetUpgrade is non-refundable, non-transferrable and non-changeable (i.e. no date / flight / destination changes).

  • Jet Airways does not guarantee that the Relevant Booking, including but not limited to its fares, terms and conditions, will be available should the upgrade be cancelled or forfeited for any reason whatsoever.

  • The amount paid for an upgrade of a Flight Segment for a guest will only be refundable if (i) that Flight Segment has been cancelled by Jet Airways, (ii) that Flight Segment is eventually operated by an aircraft without a Premier or First Class cabin due to an aircraft change, (iii) there is a change in flight timing by Jet Airways where the guest is unable to accommodate the rescheduled timing, (iv) the guest is eventually unable to travel in the upgraded class on that Flight Segment because the upgraded class cabin has been overbooked, or (v) the guest misses the flight on that Flight Segment because he/she was on a delayed inbound connecting flight operated by Jet Airways. Notwithstanding the above, if the guest in any of the above scenarios is re-accommodated on any seat of equivalent or higher class as the Upgraded seat on the same / a different flight, the amount paid for the upgrade shall not be refundable.

  • The refund if any, will be made in the amount, currency that was paid for the upgrade. The refund specified herein will be the full and final compensation from Jet Airways.

  • The Refund if any will be in accordance with the Conditions of Carriage and the laws applicable in that regard.


Others

  • The Jet Airways Conditions of Carriage, Conditions of Contract and Privacy Policy (available on jetairways.com) applies to all bookings with Jet Airways, including but not limited to bookings which have been upgraded.

  • Jet Airways reserves the right to makes changes to JetUpgrade, including but not limited to terminating JetUpgrade or any part thereof, at any time with or without prior notice. Jet Airways is not liable to guests for any loss of value or benefits that may arise as a result of any changes made to JetUpgrade.

  • Jet Airways may assign or deal with these Terms and Conditions in favour of any of its subsidiaries, subcontractors or appointed agents to carry out any of its obligations herein. Jet Airways shall not be responsible to the guest for any delay in performance or non-performance of its subcontractors and / or agents due to causes beyond its reasonable control.
