Jet Airways takes students from Cochlear Implant Habilitation and Infant Training Centre and Kamla Dharamshi Narsee Shruti School for a tour of the airline’s maintenance hangar
Opens up the world of aviation for over 100 children in association with Disney Pixar, Reliance Home Video and Games (RHVG), and Sony DADC

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline today offered over a hundred students from the Cochlear Implant Habilitation and Infant Training Centre, and Kamla Dhamshi Narsee Shruti School, a unique educational tour of Jet Airways’ aircraft maintenance hangar at the old Santacruz Airport, at Kalina (Mumbai). The educational excursion was organised in keeping with the airline’s focus on supporting causes relating to child development and education in the community.
At a half-day event held in association with Disney Pixar, RHVG and Sony DADC, the children were given an opportunity to explore a static Boeing 737-aircraft parked at the hangar. The students assisted by their teachers, were given talks on the working of an aircraft, to include important areas of aircraft maintenance, cockpit and landing gear operations. This was followed by a visit to the engine, structure, brake & wheel and seat shops. Attended by children with hearing impairment, the educational excursion provided them with insights into airline maintenance and operations, while interacting with Jet Airways Engineers, Pilots and Cabin Crew.
To add an element of fun and entertainment, Jet Airways in association with its corporate partners DISNEY PIXAR, RHVG AND SONY DADC, organized several activities at the party venue (Hangar).This included a mascot ‘Smurf’ a character from the Sony pictures’ movie ‘The Smurfs-2’, a colouring session using the popular brand of crayons Crayola, and a helicopter challenge game sponsored by RHVG. The day finished off with the screening of a children’s animation film over refreshments Aptly entitled ‘The Planes’, a new release from Disney Pixar, was sponsored by Sony DADC.
