Best Time To Visit: Thailand's monsoons arrive around July and last into November (the 'rainy season').

By far the best time to visit is from February to March when the weather is kind and the beaches are at their finest.
The Grand Palace
This city landmark should be the first place on any visitor's itinerary. It is a huge compound with entrance on Na Phra Lan Road near Sanam Luang. The detailed achitecture of the Palace is something everyone notices.

Emerald Buddha (Wat Prha Kaeo)
It is the most revered temple in the city, the royal chapel. Emerald actually means 'green' and the whole statue is made from a fine piece of green jade. To visit this place, proper attire is required as they are pretty strict about the dress code. There are a host of other places in Bagkok which are of interest to travellers. From amusement parks to temples to shopping places, Bangkok offers a nice variety.
Bangkok offers every kind of eating place that a person can think about. Right from budget restaurants to Deluxe places, you can choose from a variety of places.
Visaka Bucha Day
Celebrated on the full-moon day in May, Visaka Bucha Day is the holiest day of the Buddhist year, commemorating birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. Don't miss the public and picturesque candlelit evening procession around Bangkok's Wat Benjamabophit.

Royal Ploughing Ceremony
This celebration in May marks the auspicious beginning of the rice-planting season. Sacred oxen and the royal plough lead the parade, and ceremonially dressed Brahmin leaders interpret omens to forecast the coming year's rice yield, while His Majesty the King presides over the rituals. The royal ceremony takes place at Sanam Luang in Bangkok.

Ngan Wat Saket
The Wat Saket Fair is one of Thailand's greatest temple fairs. Held around the sacred Golden Mount in Bangkok, which houses remains of the Lord Buddha, the temple grounds open to the public once a year. Pilgrims from Thailand and around the world come Wat Saket to pay respect to the holy relicts. During the festival, the temple grounds turns into a colourful fair selling paper, incense, bells and saffron cloth as well as hundreds of other commercial trinkets and of course food!

Loui Krathong Festival
This festival is held after the rainy season. Candle-lit floats are cast into waterways to bring good fortune for the coming year.
