MUMBAI: Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has entered into codeshare agreements with premium European carriers Air France and KLM, open for sales as of today, for travel effective June 19, 2013.
The codeshare agreement enables Air France to place its marketing code (AF) on Jet Airways’ domestic flights to three major Indian cities beyond Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai. Customers travelling from Europe to India on Air France flights will now be able to connect seamlessly with one ticket to Chennai via Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, and to Kolkata, Hyderabad via Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Likewise, KLM will place its marketing code (KL) on Jet Airways’ domestic flights to four major cities in India beyond Delhi, allowing guests travelling from Europe to India to connect seamlessly to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai via Delhi.
Furthermore, members of Jet Airways’ JetPrivilege and Air France- KLM’s Flying Blue frequent flyer programs have a full fledged network-wide accrual and redemption partnership in place for many years. Dominique Patry, Air France’s Vice-President, International Affairs and Alliances, said: “This new partnership between Air France-KLM and Jet Airways illustrates our Group’s strategic positioning that continuously strengthens our offer between Europe and the rest of the world by developing our network ourselves or, like today, with first class partners as Jet Airways. With the code-sharing agreement with Jet Airways, we are strengthening our presence in a key market.”
Pieter Elbers, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer KLM, stated: “KLM is very pleased with this important step in expanding the cooperation between Jet Airways and KLM.
