Another first in Indian aviation - Introducing Quick Response (QR) codes!
At Jet Airways, we constantly endeavor to use new and emerging digital technology to share the latest updates on our product and services.
We are pleased to adopt the very latest "Quick Response (QR) mobile code technology", which will enable our guests to seamlessly access new and additional information about our offerings using their smartphone.
QR is a two-dimensional barcode, which contains alpha-numeric text and often features hyper-links that allows smartphone users to access / download additional information linked to a specific article, advertisements, press release or even a post on a Facebook page.
You will see synopsis of product features, advertisements, etc with QR codes across our various communication channels including our Facebook pages, JetWings (our In-flight magazine), Business cards, Press advertisements, etc. To access information, you simply need to scan (take a picture) of the QR code (using a QR code reader) with your smartphone which will redirect you to our mobile site (m.jetairways.com) which will have the information you seek.
Quick Response (QR) codes
To scan a QR code, you would need to have a QR code reader installed on your smartphone. If your smartphone does not come pre-loaded with a QR code reader, please download a free version from multiple sources like the 3G Vision’s i-nigma. It takes approximately 2-3 minutes to download and install the reader. With the reader installed on your mobile, you will be ready to decode mobile barcodes and connect directly to the mobile site for more information.
Step 1: You will need to activate the i-nigma QR code reader software on your phone. This will open your smartphone camera.
Step 2: Point in the direction of the QR code to correctly capture it to scan the code. i.e. click a picture of the barcode.
Step 3: The reader quickly scans the code and displays the embedded information in the code.
Step 4: If the code contains an URL, the reader will prompt to click the URL and visit the page containing the related information.
Launch (open) the internet browser on your smartphone and go to www.i-nigma.mobi. i-nigma will automatically identify your handset type, download and install i-nigma reader.
Alternatively, you can visit your smartphone’s application store and search for “i-nigma”.
When you’re ready with the QR barcode reader software installed on your phone, you can test it out by clicking on the QR code displayed above to decode the information inside.
