Your safety is of vital importance to us. Hence, we lay great emphasis on the maintenance of our aircraft. Our staff of 560 engineers and technicians, with 5 to 20 years of aviation experience, ensure that we conform to international safety standards so that your favouriote airline is also your safe airline.
We have developed in-house engineering and maintenance capability to carry out annual C checks of our aircraft. We are currently seeking clearance for 6C checks on Classic and up to Phase 80 checks on Next Generation aircraft.
We have installed the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering System (AMOS) for better inventory control. Since our inception, we have had a tie up with Airlines Rotables Limited for supply and overhaul of spares and maintaining a consignment stock.
To further strengthen our engineering infrastructure, we have recently been allotted our own hangar in Delhi, which will be operational soon. We are also in the process of acquiring land to build our own hangar in Mumbai.
Experience has shown that excess cabin baggage is a safety hazard and can increase accidents in-flight. It can impede quick and safe evacuation in an emergency. Overloading the overhead bins can cause luggage to fall out, and increase the possibility of injury. The comfort of passengers is also compromised when the cabin is cluttered with unstowed cabin baggage. To ensure our passengers' safety and comfort, we urge all passengers to observe the Indian Government's regulations permitting ONE piece of cabin baggage per adult passenger.
The DGCA (Director General Of Civil Aviation) has issued a circular on October 15, 2010 informing all airlines that rule 29B of the Aircraft Rules, 1937 has been amended.
The amended rule mentions that the Pilot-in-Command may permit the use of cellular phones after the aircraft has landed and cleared active runway. However, this facility will not be available during low visibility conditions, as determined by the DGCA.
Our aircraft are equipped with life jackets and seat cushion as floatation device. The cabin crew demomstrate the proper use of these during the Safety Demo before the flight takes off. Our cabin crew is thoroughly trained to handle any situation and we request you to follow their instructions in case of any problems on board.
Your comfort comes right up with safety. Which is why we have designed our aircraft with your comfort in mind. Your Première seats are fitted with armrest tables, arranged in a two-by-two configuration so that every passenger has a window or aisle seat. The seat pitch is a luxurious 38 inches to give you enough legroom. Even in Economy Class, our seat pitch is a spacious 31 inches with a three-by-three configuration.
Rules for carrying liquids in a hand baggage at EU Airports:
The EU has adopted new security rules for carrying liquids in a hand baggage to ensure our guests safety on all flights.
Guidelines for carrying liquids and gels in your hand baggage:
You are required to present liquids and gels separately when passing through the security check.
Buying liquids and gels at an EU airport shop, after passing through the security check or onboard the aircraft that are packed and sealed together with a receipt, will be permitted. An unbroken seal is valid for 24 hours.
Buying liquids and gels at non-EU airports is not permitted. If you change planes at an EU airport your purchases will be confiscated by the airport security.
Your purchases can also be confiscated if you buy liquids and gels onboard an aircraft operated by an airline from a non-EU country.
