SMS CHECK-IN - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Sabre Record locator / PNR (Jet Airways booking reference) is the six-letter code provided at the time of reservation. If you have made a reservation with a Travel Agent, please ask him to provide a Jet Airways (9W) PNR as the Travel Agent often provides you with their own system generated reference number. It should be entered in a format such as ABCDEF.
  • Please read the notes printed on your boarding pass carefully.
  • Promotional offer: JPMiles will be offered from time to time and on select classes.
  • SMS check-in is currently available only for JetPrivilege members. To use the service, JetPrivilege passengers need to have their mobile numbers updated in their JetPrivilege profile.
  • The application first checks for seats as per the seat preference (window or aisle) provided by the JetPrivilege member in the profile on the Jet Airways website. If the preferred seats are unavailable, then the seats are allocated by default, subject to availability. Also, if a passenger has pre-reserved his seat at the time of booking, the same would be allocated to him.
  • Once SMS checked-in, JetPrivilege passengers will have to collect their boarding passes from the Jet Airways airport check-in counter at least 30 minutes prior to departure time for domestic flights . Blue and Blue Plus members are requested to arrive at the airport atleast 45 minutes prior to flight departure. For international flights all JetPrivilege members need to arrive 60 minutes prior to departure.
  • SMS check-in application allows only the JetPrivilege passenger sending the SMS to avail a seat. Other passengers if JetPrivilege members will have to send a separate SMS to block a seat. i.e. If multiple JetPrivilege passengers are booked in a single PNR, each member will have to send an SMS to check-in.
  • SMS check-in application allows check-in for all segments booked for travel in a day by sending a single SMS. To check-in for flights on the second day, passengers will have to send a second SMS subsequent to the check-in for the first flight in the itinerary. If the passenger is eligible for Through and Return Check-in for the onward or return sector, the passenger will be able to SMS Check-in provided his tier timelines are met.
  • Proxy check-in is not allowed.
  • Boarding gates close 15 minutes before flight departure. Please ensure you arrive for security checks and boarding well in advance of your flight departure. All check-in timelines  currently followed at the airport will be applicable for SMS check-in as well.
  • In the event a passenger reports late, Jet Airways may have to re-allocate their seat, which may result in missing the flight. Reservations are subject to cancellation if the passenger is not on board the aircraft at least 15 minutes prior to departure. All existing no-show rules, terms & conditions, cancellation & baggage rules and allowances apply.
  • If the passenger does not report at the boarding gate 15 minutes before flight departure then the passenger will be offloaded from the flight as per the current procedure used at the airport. The passenger will be liable for gate no show charges.
  • SMS check-in is not available for traditional paper (TAT) tickets. It is available for eTickets only.
  • Gate no-shows will be offloaded from the system during the Missing Passenger Drill at the airport.

SMS check-in is currently available for:

  • JetPrivilege members only. JetPrivilege members need to have mobile numbers updated in their JetPrivilege membership profile.
  • JetPrivilege members holding a confirmed, valid eTicket only.
  • JetPrivilege members checking-in anytime between 48 hours and 60 minutes prior to flight departure for domestic flights and 4 hours prior to depature for international flights (please see table below for conditions).
  • All domestic and international flights departing from airports in India, which is online with our check-in system. Cities not online with our check-in system include Khajurao, Kochi and Imphal.

SMS check-in is available for passengers holding a confirmed eTicket as follows:

*On international flights, SMS check-in is available upto 4 hours prior to flight departure.

SMS check-in is currently restricted and not available for:

  • Passengers with waitlisted or open bookings.
  • Passengers with special service requests such as wheelchairs, extra seats, visual and hearing impairment, unaccompanied minors, pets in hold or stretcher cases.
  • Staff travel, JetPrivilege redemption travel, interline travel, industry discount, upgrade vouchers and agents discount tickets.

Once the boarding pass is printed:

  • The Credit / Debit Card used to purchase the tickets will have to be produced at the time of check-in. If the holder of the card is not the passenger, then the passenger should possess the following:
    a) A photocopy of both sides of the Credit / Debit Card, which will have to be self-attested by the card holder, authorising the use of the card for the purchase of the ticket.
    b) This photocopy should also contain the name of the passenger, the date of journey & the sector on which the journey is made.
  • The above document MUST be produced at the time of collecting the boarding pass. If the passenger fails to comply with these conditions, Jet Airways reserves the right to deny the passenger(s) from boarding.
  • While SMS Check-in is recommended to passengers with carry-on baggage, passengers carrying check-in luggage will have to report at the Jet Airways airport check-in counter at least 45 minutes prior to schedule flight departure to tag their baggage.
  • All check-in timelines followed currently at the airport will be applicable for SMS check-in as well.

Once SMS checked-in, passengers cannot make changes via SMS i.e.

  • Passengers cannot offload themselves through SMS check-in.
  • They cannot change the seat preference through an SMS.

Changes to your seat can be made at the following Jet Airways touch points:

  1. Airport / Curbside counter / City office (with City Check-in facility): Can cancel, offload or change seat preference. All changes or re-check-in must be done at least 2 hours prior to departure time.
  2. City office / Reservation Counter (without City office check-in facility): Can cancel or offload a passenger or change seat preference. All changes or re-check-in must be done at least 2 hours prior to departure time.
  3. 24 hour call centre: Can cancel or offload a passenger or change seat preference. All changes or re-check-in must be done at least 2 hours prior to departure time.
