Jet Airways is proud to present our SMS Check-in service - a convenient way to check-in through SMS. This is an alternative to our current tele check-in service. By sending a single SMS, JetPrivilege members can check-in and instantaneously avail a confirmed seat

How to SMS Check-in?

To SMS check-in, SMS JETC followed by PNR and JP number and send it to 56388 i.e. SMS, JETC (PNR) (JP number). For E.g. JetC ABDEF 123426789 to 56388
You will instantly receive a response via SMS : Jet Airways: Seat 2C on 9W109 BOMDEL, 09MAR is assigned to you. Please collect your boarding pass from the check-in counter at least 30 mins prior to departure

Can I get a seat of my choice with SMS Check-in?

If you have provided a seat preference in your JP profile, SMS check-in application will first check for the same on priority. Incase the seats are not available a seat will be allocated to you by default. However; our service is designed to ensure you get a convenient seat as far as possible.

What are the pre-requisites for SMS Check-in?

SMS Check-in is available for, * JetPrivilege members only who have their mobile numbers updated in the JetPrivilege Profile * Mobile users in India only * A confirmed, valid eTicket only * Anytime between 60 minutes and 48 hours prior to flight departure * For flights departing from an airport where automated check-in is available.

Who can use SMS check-in?

SMS Check-in is available for passengers holding a confirmed eTicket as follows: For Premiere passengers * JetPrivilege Members :48 hrs to 1 hour prior to departure
For Economy passengers * JetPrivilege Platinum Members : 48 hours to 1 hour prior to departure * JetPrivilege Gold Members : 48 hours to 1 hour prior to departure * JetPrivilege Silver Members : 24 hours to 1 hour prior to departure * JetPrivilege Blue Plus Members : 24 hours to 1 hour prior to departure * JetPrivilege Blue Members : 24 hours to 1 hour prior to departure

Is SMS Check-in available for all Jet Airways flights?

SMS Check-in is currently available for passengers departing from an airport, which is online with our check-in system. Cities not online with our check-in system include Khajurao, Kochi, Katmandu and Colombo
|

Can I use SMS Check-in for International flights?

Yes, you can SMS check-in for International flights departing from airports in India where automated check-in is available.

Do I have to collect my boarding pass if I have checked – in through SMS?
|

A:
|
Yes. If you have successfully checked in through SMS, you will have to collect your boarding pass from the airport counter. To collect your boarding pass please make sure you arrive at the airport at least 30 minutes prior to flight departure for domestic flights. Blue and Blue Plus members are requested to arrive at the airport atleast 45 minutes prior to flight departure. For international flights all JetPrivilege members need to arrive 60 minutes prior to departure.

Am I able to use SMS Check-in for connecting flights operated by other airlines?

No. Currently it is not possible to use SMS Check–in facility for connecting flights operated by other airlines.

How many passengers will I be able to check-in using SMS check-in?

|
A:
|
SMS Check-in is allowed only for the JetPrivilege passenger who requests for a check-in through SMS. If your travel companions are JP passengers, they can request for check-in by sending a SMS using their respective JP Number and PNR.

Can I use SMS Check-in for Through Check-in with other airlines?

No. You currently cannot use SMS Check-in for Through Check-in with other airlines.

Do I need to register to avail of SMS Check-in facility?

No. Currently you do not have to register to avail of our SMS Check-in facility. However you must ensure that the mobile number that you would used for this service is updated in your JP membership profile

Why am I not able to check-in my flight?
|
|
A:
|
You may not be able to check-in for your flight due to any of the following reasons -You may have entered an incorrect Record Locator (PNR) in the SMS -You may have entered incorrect JetPrivilege number in the SMS -Your first name and last name entered in the PNR may not be exactly the same as in our JetPrivilege membership profile -Mobile number used to SMS the check-in request may not be updated in your JetPrivilege account -You may not be fulfilling the check-in criteria as per “Who can use SMS Check-in?” and “pre-requisites for SMS-checkin” -Our flights may not be open for check-in -Your booking may not be confirmed -You may not be holding an eTicket - Seats may not be available for check-in

What type of tickets can be used for SMS Check-in?

Currently SMS Check-in is allowed only for eTickets. This facility is not available for the traditional paper tickets or ATB tickets.

Can I cancel my flight after Check-in through SMS?
|
|
A:
|
Cancellation cannot be done through SMS. Please approach our reservations or airport staff at your departure city well in advance of your flight departure.

What if I have a paper ticket?

You will need to check-in with a Jet Airways agent at the airport. Our SMS check-in facility is only available to customers with valid eTickets.

Can I use SMS Check-in if I have pre-assigned seats?

|
Yes. If you have pre-assigned your seat while booking, SMS check-in will allocate the same to you.

Can I add a frequent flyer number to my reservation using SMS Check-in?

|
Yes. If your JP membership number was not added to your reservation / PNR, the JP number sent via SMS will be added to your PNR post all validations.

No. We currently do not offer the facility to upgrade using SMS Check-in.

What identification do passengers need at the airport?

Following Valid photo identification is accepted - Official Government issued photo identification, Driving license, Election photo identification, Passport (for international passengers), and Photo credit card.

SMS check-in is real-time and automated and uses the same Check-in and Reservation system used by our staff and performs the same commands used for check-in across the counters.

What if I have check-in luggage?

While SMS Check-in is recommended for passengers with carry-on baggage, we envisage some passengers to use this facility even though they have check-in baggage. -Passengers carrying check-in luggage will have to report at the Jet Airways airport check-in counter at least 45 minutes prior scheduled flight departure for domestic travel and 60 mins prior to scheduled flight departure for International travel to tag their baggage -All check-in timelines followed currently at the airport will be applicable for SMS check-in as well.
