Golf Kit: Jet Airways permits carriage of Golf Kit as baggage. If the weight of the Golf Kit is within the free baggage allowance, there is no excess baggage charged but if the weight of the Golf Kit plus the baggage exceeds the free baggage allowance then for the first 15kgs we charge only 06 kgs and balance is charged as per actuals.
 
Ski Kit: Jet Airways permits carriage of Ski Kit as baggage. If the weight of the Ski Kit is within the free baggage allowance, there is no excess baggage charged but if the weight of the Ski Kit plus the baggage exceeds the free baggage allowance then for the first 15kgs we charge only 03 kgs and balance is charged as per actuals.
              
Musical Instruments: A passenger can carry fragile or delicate items such as musical instruments, electronic equipments , paintings and diplomatic mail in the cabin by blocking an extra seat next to him/her. The weight of the extra seat should not exceed 75kgs.
 
Bicycle: We allow Non-Motorized touring or racing bicycles to be carried as luggage on Boeing and Airbus flights, but not on ATR flights. e bicycle must be packed in a BIKE BOX or protective packaging .The handle and bars must be turned sideways and the pedals detached. Bicycles are charged as extra if the 2 pc concept is applicable. In the weight concept ,we do not have any separate charge for bicycles and will charge excess baggage above the free baggage allowance.  
 
Surfboard: Surfboard of fibre glass not exceeding 62 inches (158cms) will be included in the free baggage allowance and if in excess, it will be subject to the applicable excess baggage charge.     
 
Weapons and Ammunition: Security regulations prohibit the carriage of weapons in the passenger cabin. The following weapons may be carried in the checked in luggage ,provided they are sheathed /securely packed to prevent injury to handlers and screeners:

  • Knives
  • Box Cutter
  • Swords
  • Spear Guns
  • Martial Arts Weapons
  • Licensed Firearms (Conditions Apply)

Pet in Hold: Pet animals can be carried on Jet Airways flights as passenger baggage or shipped cargo. Pets such as Dogs, cats , household birds, rabbits, canaries are allowed only in the aircraft holds. Live animals should be carried in escape proof containers of proper size with ample ventilation. The container must be strong i.e. not made of chewable material. One passenger can check in maximum of 03 containers.
Charges : Excess baggage is charged for the live animal including the weight of the container irrespective of the free baggage allowance of the passenger

Note :

  • On Domestic flights live animals are not carried in ATR flights
  • On International flights for UK pets are not permitted as baggage and must be sent as cargo.
    Health and vaccination certificates must be in order.

Valuables: As per article of General Conditions of Carriage passengers should not include in checked baggage any valuable item like money , jewelry, electronic and photographic equipment ,precious metal , silverware, negotiable papers, certificates , securities or valuable business documents, passports or any identification documents or samples.

However a passenger may declare a value for checked baggage in excess of the applicable liability limits.Valuation charge is paid at the time of check in.
                     
Valuation Charge for Domestic sectors : 1%( Value Declared by passenger - Airline Liability)
The maximum value that can be declared is Rs1,00,000

Valuation Charge for International sectors : USD 0.50 per 100USD or portion thereof
The maximum value that can be declared is USD 4000

Dangerous Goods: Jet Airways does not carry dangerous goods of any description on its aircraft.

Exception : Alcoholic Beverages ,Perfumes and colognes ,Medicines or Toiletries etc. Small gaseous oxygen cylinders required for medical use airlines approval. Small carbon dioxide  cylinders worn by the passenger for the operation of mechanical limbs. 
 
Dry Ice: Dry ice can be accepted in cabin and checked in baggage but in limited quantities only. As Cabin baggage for Domestic and International Sectors : Not exceeding 2kgs used to refrigerate perishable products.

As Checked baggage for Domestic Sectors:
B737 :  2kgs maximum per box with 20kgs max per compartment .Maximum is 80kgs
ATR   :  2kgs maximum per box with 20kgs max per compartment .Maximum is 40kgs
               
As Checked baggage for International Sectors:
B737 :  2kgs maximum per box with 20kgs max per compartment .Maximum is 80kgs
A340 :  2kgs maximum per box with 20kgs .
The Maximum for Bulk hold is 50Kgs for other holds no restriction
