Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, announces the introduction of a daily direct flight between Chennai and Pune, effective Thursday, May 15, 2008.
Jet Airways, already operates daily services from Chennai to Pune via Bangalore. With the introduction of this daily direct flight, the airline will enhance its frequency on this sector.
Jet Airways’ flight 9W 491 (Chennai-Pune) will depart Chennai at 1725 hrs and arrive at Pune at 1900 hrs. On the return leg, Jet Airways’ flight 9W 492 (Pune-Chennai) will depart Pune at 1935 hrs and arrive at Chennai at 2120 hrs.
Commenting on this new frequency, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, said, “Passenger traffic on the Chennai - Pune sector has been growing at a fast speed, and the launch of a daily direct flight between the two cities, in addition to our pre-existing service on this route, is an attempt to cater to this increasing passenger demand.
