Jet Airways introduces Daily Direct Flights between Chennai & Pune, effective May 15, 2008

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, announces the introduction of a daily direct flight between Chennai and Pune, effective Thursday, May 15, 2008.

Jet Airways, already operates daily services from Chennai to Pune via Bangalore. With the introduction of this daily direct flight, the airline will enhance its frequency on this sector.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 491 (Chennai-Pune) will depart Chennai at 1725 hrs and arrive at Pune at 1900 hrs. On the return leg, Jet Airways’ flight 9W 492 (Pune-Chennai) will depart Pune at 1935 hrs and arrive at Chennai at 2120 hrs.

Commenting on this new frequency, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, said, “Passenger traffic on the Chennai - Pune sector has been growing at a fast speed, and the launch of a daily direct flight between the two cities, in addition to our pre-existing service on this route, is an attempt to cater to this increasing passenger demand. We expect this service to prove particularly popular with business travelers as it gives Jet Airways passengers the convenience of enhanced flexibility.”

Jet Airways will introduce its world-class service on the Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft with Premiere and Economy class configuration, offering the highest quality of comfort, courtesy, reliability and standards of in-flight as well as ground services, for which it has been highly acclaimed.

With the induction of this new flight, Jet Airways’ passengers from Pune will enjoy convenient connections to Kuala Lumpur and Toronto, via Chennai.
