Optional Charges

Excess Baggage Charges

Excess baggage fees are chargeable if the checked baggage exceeds Jet Airways' free checked baggage allowance. For more information on the excess baggage fees, please refer to our Baggage Allowance Calculator.


Government Taxes

Taxes, fees and charges are imposed on air transportation by government authorities. Taxes and fees are subject to change at the discretion of each country's government and may be adjusted for inflation and / or currency fluctuation. You may also be required to pay taxes, fees and charges not already collected.


Reservations and Ticketing Service Fees

Fees may apply for any changes / cancellations / no-show at airport on your ticketed itinerary depending upon the type of fare purchased. Please contact your travel agent or nearest Jet Airways office.


Oxygen Cylinders

With effect from December 26, 2011, Jet Airways will charge a nominal amount for the oxygen bottles provided on board.

Weapons and Ammunitions

Jet Airways will charge INR 5000 per fire arm, air gun and / or ammunition (up to 50 rounds) per guest for additional services provided during handling and carriage of fire arm, air gun or ammunition in their registered baggage on within India sectors.

On International sectors guest will be charged US $100 for the additional service provided during handling and carriage of fire arm, air gun or ammunition in their registered baggage. For more information, please click here.


Television carriage charges

Jet Airways levies a fee for carriage of television from the select airports. For more information, please click here.


Travel Certificate

Effective Mar 21, 2016, a nominal fee of INR 250 will be charged per ticket, per passenger towards each Travel Certificate requested for any Jet Airways flight. In addition, service tax of 6% will be levied per transaction for tickets issued in Economy and service tax of 9% will be levied for tickets issued in First Class / Première.


Carrier Charges

Carrier charges will be applicable per guest per segment, for all Jet Airways award flight bookings confirmed on or after Aug 17, 2016. for details.


Unaccompanied Minor Service Charge

Please note the service charge levied for carrying Unaccompanied Minors and Young Guests on Jet Airways.

  • This charge is applicable per flight. Stopover point will be considered as a destination. (Stopover: Departure from intermediate point is later than 24 hours after arrival at that point).

  • In case of multiple stopovers in a journey, the charge will re-apply from every intermediate stopover point to the next stopover point in the journey.

  • This is applicable on Jet Airways operated flights. For interline and codeshare travel, the Operating Carriers' rules will apply.

  • Service involving a dedicated staff member travelling on the flight with the child cannot be provided.

  • *SAARC includes Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka

    *Gulf region includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates

    Note:Tickets for unaccompanied minors cannot be purchased online (jetairways.com).

    When two or more unaccompanied children from the same family are travelling together on the same flight, a single charge for up to two children will be levied.


    Seat Select

    Seat Select is a convenient option that lets you reserve your preferred seat in advance across our domestic and international flights.

    This facility is complimentary for JetPrivilege Platinum, Gold members and guests travelling in First Class and Première. Guests traveling in Economy can avail of this facility for a nominal charge.

    Ticketing Transaction Fee for Canada

    Please note that with immediate effect, a Transaction Fee of CAD 25 at Canada ticketing offices will be charged per ticket (irrespective of Point of sale), per passenger, per transaction.

    • Transaction fee will apply for all tickets handled by Jet Airways ticketing offices located in Canada and Contact Centre handling Canadian Operations.

    • Transaction fee will also be applicable to JetPrivilege Redemption Tickets and AD (Agency Discount) Tickets.

    • Ticketing Transaction fee will be Non refundable.

    • Ticketing Transaction fee will be also applicable for reissue of tickets originally issued on the website, if the reissue is processed by any Jet Airways Ticketing Offices or the Contact Centre .

    • Transaction fee will also be applicable for NOGO VCR re- issued at Jet Airways ticketing offices and Contact Centre.

    Note: Existing Paper ticket fee USD 50 ex US and CAD 50 ex Canada remains unchanged (Exception - Infant tickets)

    Transaction Fee is exempted for below:

    • Group tickets issued at Jet Airways ticketing counters.

    • JetPrivilege Redemption tickets.

    • Involuntary changes e.g. schedule change and flight disruptions.

    • Infant tickets.

    • All ID / AD tickets.

    • NOGO status VCR coupons issued originally by travel agents are exempted until agents get the control to reissue. (Transaction fee applies to NOGO status VCR coupons issued originally at Jet Airways ticketing offices and Contact center.)


    Credit Card Fee

    Please be advised that effective February 15, 2012, a Credit Card Fee of GBP 6.50 will be charged per ticket for every payment accepted by Credit Card at London ticketing offices.

    • Credit Card fee will be Non refundable.

    • Reissue of tickets originally issued on website will also attract Credit Card fee if payment is accepted by Credit Card at London ticketing offices.

    Note: This fee will not be applicable to Corporate Deal Fares.


    Development Fee at Mumbai

    Effective Apr 1, 2016 till Mar 31, 2021 Development Fee of INR 137 for within India departure and INR 825 for International departure will be levied from each passenger departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai.

    Development Fee is exempted for :

    • Infants (Children under the age of 2).

    • Holders of Diplomatic Passport.

    • Airline crew on duty including sky marshals and crew on board (Does not include Dead Head Crew or ground personnel).

    • Persons traveling on official duty on aircraft operated by Indian Armed Forces.

    • Transit / Transfer passengers (up to 24 hours). A passenger is treated in transit only if onward travel journey is within 24 hours from arrival into Mumbai and is part of the same ticket. In cases where separate tickets are issued, guest would not be treated as a transit passenger.

    • Involuntary rerouting due to technical problems or weather conditions.

    • Persons travelling on official duty for UN Peace Keeping Missions.


    User Development Fee at IGI Airport - Delhi

    The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has approved to levy a User Development Fee from each guest departing from and arriving into Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi for sales effective Nov 15, 2015 and travel to / from IGI Airport on or after Nov 15, 2015.

Exemptions:

User Development Fee at CSI Airport - Mumbai

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has approved to levy a User Development Fee with immediate effect from each guest departing from and arriving into Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai for travel effective November 15, 2015, to / from CSI Airport.

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has approved to levy a User Development Fee from each guest departing from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata for travel effective November 15, 2015.

    Effective Aug 1, 2016 Hong Kong Airport Authority has implemented the Airport Construction Fee (ACF) – Tax Code ‘G3’ for guests departing from Hong Kong.

    eTicket Reprint Charge

    Guests travelling on Jet Airways flights will be charged a fee of INR 50 for requesting a reprint of their eTicket itinerary at the airport or city offices.

    This charge will be applicable to all guests (except JetPrivilege Platinum members and Première guests) only for reprint / duplicate copy of the existing booking.

    Any additional changes to the booking will be charged as per the fare rules applicable.


    Convenience Fee / Optional Payment Charge (OPC)

    Effective April 1, 2015, the Convenience Fee applicable for ticketing on jetairways.com (India site), Jet Airways Mobile App, the IVR and the Optional Payment Charge applicable at ticketing counters within India, has been revised to INR 150 per sector, per guest. However guests booking tickets at Jet Airways ticketing offices and using their debit card as mode of payment, shall be exempted from the Optional Payment Charge of INR 150.

    This non-refundable fee is applicable for both Domestic and International journeys.
